I have been living in a fog for the last month. I keep putting off important things in order to do other stuff. Such as puttin off study to go to the gym, but not actually putting enough effort in to get results. So i spend time and dont feel like i have used my time effectively. I have decided this is because i dont focus on the present enough. If you focus on the present, put in effort to engage and remember people around you or the situation your in, it fixes better in your memory. Then you feel like you have a more interesting and rewarding life, although you probably wont be doing anything more than the usual stuff u do.

When we were in Japan, Lex and I were talking about how life in Japan seems to be sleep, go to work, come home, eat dinner, sleep. I think if life is like that, it's hard to focus on the present, because it makes you realise how much of your life is just the same thing over and over again, and so instead you have to think about the future and what you hope to achieve by doing the daily grind.
That's how WoW seems to be so successful, IMO. You do something like grind reputation with some people, and it's just the same stuff over and over again, but you think about that awesome piece of gear that you can buy once you're at the highest reputation level, and how you'll be able to beat X and Y, etc., etc.
What would focusing on the present achieve? I guess it would be good if you're daily grind wasn't so boring.
I think there are two ways of looking at it, goal and path.
If you focus on the now, its path, ie "its not the destination but the journey".
If you focus on the future, its goal. "Keep your eye on the prize"
I have trouble with doing pure either one, because you need to enjoy your every day, but you also need milestone achievements to make you feel like you've achieved something
